I got this
steamer. Some off brand, probably Chinese plastic pink pitcher looking steamer
that is NOT ONLY for clothing, but can be used on your face! Exciting right?
Instead of using it for my clothing, I have been steaming my face at night on the
low setting. It feels great and makes my skin feel extremely clean. Last night,
I decided to steam my face really well. It had been a couple of days since I
used it and thought right before bed it would be the perfect time. So, I
plugged it in, added water and turned it on high. There I am, sitting in bed waiting for it to
heat up and it starts steaming. I go to grab it and it starts spurting out
boiling water at me. I manage to somehow drop it and it continues to spurt
painfully at my legs. By the time it is done, my bed is soaked and my ankles
are throbbing from first degree burns. I curse loudly, pop some advil, use some
of the Calagel in my med kit and placed a wrapped ice pack on the most severely
burnt leg. Luckily, when I woke up today
and took a look at my leg, it just appeared that I received a pretty bad sunburn! I have decided from now on that when in Mongolia, any item
you purchase could burn, scar, injure or assault you, since clearly, there
appear to be zero regulations on electronics. My rule of thumb from now on is
trust nothing electronic that you buy for 25000 tugrigs or 17 American dollars!
